Smoothie FAQs

Do smoothies need yogurt? Not necessarily. However, yogurt does play a very large role in the overall thickness and creaminess of the smoothie. If you choose not to use yogurt, keep in mind that the texture won’t be quite the same! You can add more frozen fruit to thicken it if desired, or use a coconut yogurt for a dairy free option. Do you put ice in a smoothie? Nope! Since we’re using frozen fruit for this Tropical Smoothie Recipe, the smoothie is plenty cold and thick without any added ice. You can always add ice if you feel it’s not as cold or slushy as you’d like.

Tropical Smoothie Variations

While this Tropical Smoothie is great as-is, smoothies are also incredibly customizable. Make it your own! Use another liquid. I love the flavor of both coconut milk and pineapple juice, but feel free to play around with the liquid you use. Other great tropical options would be coconut water, mango nectar, orange juice, etc. I love the flavor of both coconut milk and pineapple juice, but feel free to play around with the liquid you use.
