Early embryos also had fewer instances of abnormal chromosome numbers and other defects. In humans, these types of abnormalities can lead to infertility, miscarriage, and birth defects. “CoQ10 rescued a lot of the defects we’d reported before,” said Colaiácovo. “It’s exciting to consider that we could be looking at a simple, low-cost intervention.”
