The secret to Jennifer Lopez's youthful skin doesn't come from inside a syringe. The multitalented star, who just launched her own skin-care line, JLo Beauty, revealed that she's never had Botox, used lasers, or had any kind of plastic surgery. “I’m not that person. I don’t have anything against people doing that; it’s just not my thing,” she told Glamour during a Zoom call with beauty editors ahead of the launch. Without ruling out trying Botox or other injectables in the future, Lopez is sticking firmly to her current routine for now. “I’m more about a natural approach to skin care,” she explained. “I think it starts first, honestly, with who you are on the inside and that shows on your face on the outside. That’s number one.” Most important, Lopez added, she wants the products to actually work. “I want the hyaluronic acid in there, I want the things that are going to help,” she said. "Because I don’t want to have to go to the needles at some point. I’m not saying one day I won’t, but I haven’t yet. I like that I have a more natural look.” The 51-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, who dominated the 2020 Super Bowl half-time show, also revealed that, when she was in her 20s, she had been told by both a dermatologist and her then boyfriend to start a Botox regimen. “I went to this other doctor with [a former] boyfriend, and again I was 20-something years old and I haven’t ever [used] Botox to this day, and she said…‘You have a little line right here, we should start Botox,’” Lopez recalled. “The boyfriend’s like, ‘Yeah, you should start it! I do that.’ And I was like, ‘Nope, thank you.’” Lopez doesn't regret her decision and is even relieved that she didn't start down a path that might not have worked out for her. “I just wonder what would have happened to me if I would have started Botox at 23, what would I look like right now,” she said. “So different. My face would be a totally different face and, as you see, that line never really developed into anything; it’s the same line it is today.”
