Learn More »Apple doesn’t currently sell an iPhone with a built-in blood pressure monitor. However, there are a number of third-party apps that claim to be able to measure blood pressure using the iPhone’s camera and sensors. These apps use the iPhone’s camera to measure blood flow in the user’s finger. By analyzing the color of the blood, they claim to be able to estimate the user’s blood pressure. However, there is no scientific evidence to support the accuracy of these apps. And even if they are accurate, blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day, so a single measurements is not necessarily indicative of someone’s overall health. If you’re concerned about your blood pressure, you should consult a doctor, not your iPhone. In 2015, a study was conducted on blood pressure monitoring apps for Apple iPhone and Android phones. It discovered that the apps’ blood pressure tracking capabilities are useful but cannot be directly measured. As a result, your blood pressure can be calculated using data such as the finger pulse. This is not guaranteed to be the case. Blood pressure readings cannot be automatically generated by smartphone apps. Blood pressure can be measured using the pulse of a user’s finger held against the camera or screen of their phone. Because this technology is still in its early stages, the Food and Drug Administration does not currently approve it as accurate or safe.

Learn More »There are many devices on the market that claim to help people monitor their blood pressure, but not all of them are created equal. The Apple Health Blood Pressure Monitor is one of the most popular and trusted devices available, and for good reason. This monitor is incredibly accurate and easy to use, making it a great choice for people who want to keep a close eye on their blood pressure. High blood pressure, or hypertension, is usually associated with only a few symptoms and, in many cases, comorbid conditions. It is critical to maintain proper blood pressure levels in order to be proactive about your overall health. To create this list, we considered the following criteria: quality, quantity, and timeliness. Synchronizing with Apple Health is possible. The American Medical Association (AMA) has listed this device as a VDL verified device (VDL). With the OMRON Series 10, you can keep track of two users at the same time and store up to 200 readings on the device. SmartBP is also compatible with Omron data and can be used in conjunction with Apple Health to provide simple and cost-effective tracking. In contrast to the free App, which can be syncd with for free, premium subscriptions can cost up to $139.99 per year. Blood pressure monitors, such as the OMRON Series 10, provide the most functionality and usability. There are concerns that the app’s connectivity to Apple Health is unreliable. Users have complained that the software still feels outdated and that properly viewing measurements can sometimes be difficult or even impossible. Withings BPM Connect syncs with Withings Health Mate by connecting to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Withings BPM Connect has received rave reviews not only for its exceptional display, but also for the ease with which it is set up. Those who may have vision problems or those who require quick access to their results should be familiar with the color-coded display. Health Mate’s data and trend capabilities are limited. SmartBP is a blood pressure monitoring device that is compatible with Google Fit and Apple Health. The OMRON Series 10 and Evolv offer the same advanced technology, allowing accurate readings and precise measurements. SmartBP is a more cost-effective alternative to Connect that provides a deeper level of functionality than Connect does. The list is dominated by OMRON due to the fact that other devices, such as A&D and Microlife, can sync with Apple Health, but their apps are weak due to their lack of seamless connectivity. Because Qardio is not included in the AMA’s VDL, we excluded it from our main list of monitors. It is a very well-known and popular measurement. An upper arm blood pressure cuff of QardioArm is made of highly durable and easy-to-clean materials. Qardio Heart Health, the companion app, has a score of 4.7 on the App Store and has received excellent feedback from users. The app’s speed with which it updates its user data, as well as the way it depicts their information, are two of its distinguishing features.
